Where do foreigners go to relieve their thirst in Kwangju

Looking for a good mix of foreigners and Koreans hopefully.

1.) 'Traffaut' (named after a French art-house movie director) is a tiny, but extremely cool jazz lounge-bar, which has your standard beer-bottle fridge and liquor shelves, but the emphasis is on wine, and cheese and crackers, and consistently superb music. Last few times I've been in there have been a few Koreans and always at least one other foreigner. The owner-operator Cheol-hong is a genuine nice guy, and also such a movie buff he has his entire, extensive art-house and music DVD collection on display, and available to borrow.

If you're new to town:
it's downtown,
near to Kumnam-ro 1 gah, and the old Do-jung building;
Gushijung Sahgori,
then walk slowly toward the old Do-jung building along the small street,
look up to the second floor, and for a red sign on the door by the street, leading to some steps up.

2.) 'Mike & Dave's Speakeasy' has more foreigners than Koreans. Most foriegners will know where it is and how to get there. Good rock & dance music, good beer and some food, good open space for socialising or sitting, great air in warmer times with the windows on one wall which open out from the second floor (to let out the f'kn cigarette smoke).

Go to the main Burger King down town, just along from the Post Office. Walk away from the Post Office, past the Burger King, and look down the first small alley to your right... and look up for the nice BIG sign at the end there.

3.) 'Soul Train' is probably the best mix of Koreans and foreigners ... except that as a Korean owned, operated and cultural-norm kind-of bar, there probably isn't as much 'mixing' as in the others... But I haven't been there for a while anyway. It'd be interesting to get some recent real live-action stories about the place. (Anyone?) It's a pretty standard issue, good all-round bar. It's a huge room, with a bar in the middle, 'talented' young boys and girls throwing the drinks in the middle, good music, a small pool table at one end, and (they used to have...?) DVDs playing against the wall at the other, with tables and chairs against the two longer walls.

It's in a basement bar, about half way between the Grand Hotel and the old Dojung building.

The main area is Chungjangno, a street and surrounding area in Dong-gu. It is accessible via Docheong (Culture Complex) and Geumnamno 4-ga subway stations. That's where Soul Train and Speakeasy are.
