You have to serve a certain number of years when you join up. And then I think the military can employ a "stop loss" policy so you can't quit after your term if the army still really, really needs you. But of course, you know this going in when you sign the recruitment form.
I'm sorry. Anyone who joins the american military should understand the army is used at least once per decade in a questionable war. The odds are you're going to be asked to fight a war that you may or may not find moral. If you don't know your own recent history and the history of the organization you're about to join, it's kinda your own fault.
If the USA was drafting people against their will, that's one thing. But you join the army with both eyes wide, wide open. There's no excuse. It is totally disingenuous to join, get all the benefits, and then try to get out when you actually have to fight a gosh darn real war your government has declared perfectly legal. |

According to this page of the Supreme Court of Canada:
| Quote: |
| In addition to being Canada's court of final appeal, the Supreme Court performs a unique function. It can be asked by the Governor in Council to hear references, that is, to consider important questions of law such as the constitutionality or interpretation of federal or provincial legislation, or the division of powers between the federal and provincial levels of government. |
So, yes, one of its functions is to address the constitutionality of laws. |
And it should be noted that this function expanded almost exponentially after Mr. Trudeau repatriated the Constitution and added in a Charter of Rights, in 1982. This was very controversial at the time. Despite Trudeau's being regarded in some quarters as anti-American, many saw the Charter as an Americanization of the legal system.
There had been a Bill Of Rights in Canada since the early 60s, but it wasn't regarded as over-riding other laws. |

I'll ignore your childish intentional misspellings and tell you something that'll destroy your so-called argument: I am not a Freemason nor am I now or ever have been employed by the CIA.
The simple fact of the matter, you hypocrite, is that you accused some people of dodging the draft. They did not. Your insinuation therefore is that it is important that they serve in the military. If it is important for them to serve, then it is just as important that you also serve in the military. Note that I did not ask if you served specifically in the US military. I asked if you had served in your country's military.
We now have your answer, obviously. You did not serve in the military. Did you break the law to avoid military service? Your accusations against others for not having served is therefore hypocrisy. They did not break the law but you insinuate that they did by calling them draft dodgers.
Yet again, we see how well your Nut-Job Conspiracy-Theorist mind serves you: very badly. I remind you that the mental health treatment you obviously need is covered under the National Health Insurance if you're in Korea and enrolled in that program. Depending on where else in the world you happen to be and the terms of your local health insurance policy, that treatment may also be covered there also.
Now a different question for you: How did you manage to graduate from a reputable university with your obvious inability to form or follow rational and coherent arguments and your complete disregard for logic, evidence, and facts? |

Nut-job, eh? Well, at least i'm not bent on angry outbursts or childish rants.
Call me crazy
Anyways, you're a good Mormon right Cali?
As i said, i'm not seeking the confidence of the AmeriKan public to serve as their Commander-in-Chief.
Why are you so bent on obfuscating, steering off course & trying to discuss the irrelevant?
Maybe what you're really trying to share with readers here is that YOU served in YOUR military (likely even still do).
Would you like a HERO COOKIE? Applause? How much blood you get on your hands?
Rather than work to hijack this one, if you're really that impassioned about praising all proud members of the military, past & present, plz start an appropriate thread.
That these two deserters are to be extradited back into the hands of the "NEW" CONS' 4th REICH AmeriKa is entirely shameful.
They are totally right NOT to support an unjust, immoral & ILLEGAL occupation of the middle east.
Hmmmm ... just imagine if other enlightened US service-people woke up to the reality here |

Yes, you are certainly proving the case that you are a nut-job. You're focused on making childish rants. Where have I ever made an angry outburst? C'mon. If I have, you should certainly be able to quote the outburst and indicate where the anger is.

That's still irrelevant, hypocrite. If you did not serve and did not violate the law in not serving, then it's an illegitimate attack from you to call others who did not violate the law in not serving draft dodgers or deserters.

This is the thread in which you posted your lies about a few people. This is the thread in which I have shown that not only are you a liar on this issue, but also that you are a hypocrite on this issue.

Iraq Says 2 American Guards Detained
BAGHDAD - Iraqi soldiers detained two American security guards along with several other foreigners traveling Monday in a private security convoy after they opened fire in Baghdad, wounding one woman, an Iraqi military spokesman said.

Actually we all pretty much call you a nut job. Have you considered, for a moment, that you are, in fact, a nut job? The government really isn't watching you through your coffee maker? Your microwave really isn't leaking mind control rays? Have you considered the strong possibility of getting your head out of your ass, finding a nice girl, settling down, working an office job, putting your money in savings bonds, buying some property? |

Hey, liar! You said that Freemasonry and Mormons are synonomous. They're not. You are therefore a liar.
I simply said they are not synonomous. You just pretended that I said there was no connection. You are therefore a liar. |
