| wow so I guess its a good thing that I texted this girl that I liked and told her there was first snow. And she replied and then I called her and we talked for a while and made plans for celebrating Thanksgiving. I wondered why she was so enthusiastic when she'd been somewhat distant before. Cool! |
that's just funny...good on ya!
Sometimes i just don't understand korean women. i try, and being a chick myself, i REALLY try...but...I just give up. korean men aren't even worth the effort.

I think you're supposed to kiss your significant other when it snows for the first time and if you're away from your sweetie when it happens, a phone call or text message is the thing to do.
That's what I've heard, at least. |

Hmm. Well, my taekwondo master texted me last year on the first snow. And last night he specifically called me out of class to see it. But there is nothing romantic going on.
I texted my boyfriend when I saw it, but I don't know why. |

i mean...cmon...its possible right? |

Look, Endo, I know the vast majority of the men on this site aren't going to believe it but...
Master is happily married.
His wife and I get along quite well.
His kids are like my nieces and nephews.
His father and mother called me a daughter.
Master has never--not once, not ever--done anything inappropriate in class or outside of class. When he needs to touch me to correct my form, he does so in a non-sexual manner. Unlike the boys, he doesn't push my ass to the floor to get me into splits or anything.
He's taught me tons of Korean. He is the sole person in this country I feel most comfortable communicating with (in Korean).
I have gone on outings with his family.
He's met my family.
He's like a mentor and brother to me.
And we've gone out drinking, alone together (his wife knew) and even when both of us were very very drunk, nothing happened.
He's met my boyfriend and offered to do anything to help get the boyfriend's parents on our side.
NOTHING romantic.
I think he called me out because he knows I'm from MN (snow!) and a little homesick cause of the holidays. Last year the first snow was the date after I burst out in tears in class because I was so homesick and stressed and injured from something else.
If he's gay, well damn, his wife is a lucky woman, because he obviously adores her. And the way he talks about her--I wish she could hear it. All woman want to be talked about behind their backs like that.
If he has any sort of romantic feelings, then he is being a grown man and keeping his distance appropriately. I mean, really keeping his distance. |

^ You see all these excuses your making.
That's what women do!
They make males into these complex creatures when we really are quite simple.
And listen Ativista to how you even posted your initial thoughts on this thread. You were on the outside trying to defend his actions, but if you clearly read between the lines, you could see that you do have suspicions.
Now will your taekwondo instructor ever come on to you? I don't know...
And if you came on to him would he reciprocate? I don't know either. I guarntee you if he is straight he has thought about it, but he might just not have what it takes to do it.
But whenever a striaght man does simple cute nice things for a femals there is always an element of sexual desire behind that. Well almost always....unless the girl is ugly, but if that was the case then a guy wouldn't really do these sweet things anyways.
ANYWAYS.....I hope you hear what I'm saying, but I do doubt you will actually listen. |

I hear what you're saying...but a) I think you're wrong and b) even if you're right, I don't see it as a problem. People can think whatever they want. Acting on it is a different matter. |
