This was on MSN. Probably rubbish, but have you owned any of these:

15: Vauxhall/Opel Astra: (1991- ). There have been five generations of Vauxhall Astra; if Opel hadn't stuck with the Kadett tag in Europe for the first two generations, the car would be placed even higher here. 10,000,000+

14: Mazda 323: (1963-2003). Strictly speaking, the 323 shouldn't be this high up the league table, as it was sold in different markets with all sorts of badges, including Protg, Etude, Familia and GLC. 10,480,000

13: Toyota Camry: (1983- ). Sharp looks and dynamics are supposedly what we all want from our cars. The Camry offers neither yet Toyota has sold millions, proving you can't always get what you want. 10,500,000+

12: Chrysler Voyager: (1984- ). When this car debuted, a new market sector was born. Based on Chryslers K-cars, Voyagers were space-efficient, cheap and styled so well that the design lasted over a decade. 11,700,000+

11: Oldsmobile Cutlass: (1961-99). It's no surprise the Cutlass nameplate was such a big seller; it became almost a separate division of the Oldsmobile line up with all sorts of derivatives over the years. 11,900,000

10: Vauxhall/Opel Corsa: (1982- ). Corsa is a name that's been carried by Vauxhall, Opel and Chevrolet products around the world. It was first adopted by Opel for a car that we knew as the Nova in the UK. 12,000,000+

9: Ford Fiesta: (1976- ). It could have been called the Bravo, Metro or Pony, but Ford chose the Fiesta instead for its front-wheel drive car - leaving those nameplates available for others. 12,500,000+

8: Chevrolet Impala: (1958- ). This was the car that brought affordable luxury to the masses, as it was Chevrolet's costliest mainstream car, but it was still positioned below the ultra-luxurious Caprice. 14,000,000+

7: Volkswagen Passat: (1973- ). Bridging the gap between mainstream and premium, the Passat has been around for over three decades, although in some markets it's known as the Dasher. Nice. 14,100,000+

6: Ford Model T: (1908-1927). This was the car that could be ordered in any hue so long as it was black - which was the only colour paint that could dry fast enough to keep up with the rate of production. 16,500,000

5: Honda Civic: (1972- ). Like its Japanese contemporaries, the Civic was launched as basic but reliable transport, its low price a major selling point. How things have changed in eight generations. 17,730,000+

4: Ford Escort: (1968-2000). Although the Escort became an icon in Europe, after replacing the Anglia, the name was also used on several North American cars, helping to boost production numbers. 20,000,000

3: Volkswagen Beetle: (1938- ). The Beetle resulted from the Nazi government's request for a peoples' car. It was such a success that VW dusted down the name and reused it before the original was even dead. 22,300,000+

2: Volkswagen Golf:(1974- ). Proving that the Golf is far from exclusive, every one of the five generations produced so far have been best sellers. Perhaps it's the halo effect of the seminal GTi. 25,000,000+

1: Ford F-Series: (1948- ). When it comes to motoring institutions, few are more iconic than the F-Series - at least in its homeland. Despite being sold in the US only, Ford has shifted 30 million of them. 30,000,000+

And the BIG one: Toyota Corolla: (1966- ). If Indesit made cars, this is what they'd be like. Dull but efficient, the Corolla is the world's best-selling motoring nameplate ever, thanks to superb reliability - but little else. 32,000,000+

Ahh, man I did all that without checking and I didn't even get one, what a jip! Was sure an Austin Montego and a VW Polo would have been in there somewhere.

I had a Toyota Corolla for a few years after my Toyota Tercel was getting old. A solid company.

I love the new Toyota FJ Cruiser and am tempted to get it some day:

I had one before I came back to Korea. I drove a 4Runner before that, the FJ was sweeeeeet! I love the voodoo blue, but when I go back I want one of the new colors.

If you want to do some research before you buy one, I suggest this site:

Apparently that only cam in at number 21:

Ford Mustang: (1964- ). The fastest-selling car in history, Ford churned out more than a million of these pony cars within 18 months of its 1964 introduction. Just don't mention the awful Mustang II. 8,300,000+
