Well, I'm always happy to discuss the interesting matter with Americans, but nobody in their right mind gives a damn what canuckleheads think. In fact, what are you even doing mentioning Canada alongside America as though the former has the remotest significance? Football is great. Soccer is great. Europe is great. America is great. Canada should be turned into glass.
But yes - thanks Israel, very much. It'll be a long time before I describe you as a hideous terrorist state again. |

Merriam-Webster's defines football as:
| Quote: |
| any of several games played between two teams on a usu. rectangular field having goalposts or goals at each end and whose object is to get the ball over a goal line, into a goal,or between goalposts by running, passing, or kicking. |
That describes both (American) football and soccer. That said, Soccer is still the preferred term in the US.

| When I said 'football' I was indeed referring to American Football ("Football is great. Soccer is great") |

| as Jimmy Greaves (the greatest English footballer and possibly the best footballer ever is fond of saying) "It's a funny old game"...still have the small matter of negotiating Croatia at Wembley...will Beckham be captain on this momentous occasion...and his 100th cap? |

Israel's helping hand to England was all for naught, as Croatia eliminates England from Euro 2008, 3-2, and Russia edges Andorra, 1-0, for the berth.
Hooray! |
