I have problem that I just can't seem to find the answer for.
My computer often freezes. When I open up my Windows Task Manager I find that there are two windows 'not responding'. First is the window that I had opened and is being controlled by iexplore.exe process and a mirror window also not responding being controlled by explorer.exe process.
I am using Windows XP and had no problems on my old computer. Now I am running a Core 2 Duo and I have constant freezes....
I know the software is good...because Cubanlord sold it to me... |

You could have some spyware or malware installed. Sometimes these cause serious problems with Explorer because they are not well designed. I would seriously check for some strange crap that got onto the system. You need to use a program to find it...someone here can recommend. |

Try Ad-aware 2007 and AVG free.
Both are free programs (Google should find suitable download locations) and should sort you out.
If Adaware disrupts your internet connection, there is tiny program you can run to fix the issue. I have the name of it on my computer at home, or google it too.
EDIT: typing with gloves on! |

Thanks for the tips...have already ran 3 different spyware/malware programs...but it happens even after a re-install when the computer drive has been wiped. |

My new laptop kept freezing when i tried to log it off. I phoned 'Dell Support', they suggested some possible solutions which i tried...but the problem persisted.
I realised the problems started when i installed software for my new webcam (the software had an unsigned digital signiture). So i used windows XP's "system restore" facility to take the computer back a few days to the point before i installed the software. That solved the problem. Try restoring the comuter back a few days/weeks to when everything ran smoothly. Here's more info...
