Which is? It reveals MY way of thinking...and that is??? |
It's non-existent. You responses are shaped by your personal dislikes, not intelligent observation or insight. You don't think, you react. Useless. You showed this once again when you dismissed a post based on who posted. While you claim it was because the post was overly simplified, this is obviously a lie, as I have already logically pointed out: that an analysis can be discredited simply because it looks at the core of an issue rather than secondary, tertiary - and beyond - influences, is illogical. It is you who has shown a lack of intelligence and insight. An intelligent, intellectually honest, objective observer would first READ a post and check its internal logic.
Yo didn't even attempt this, by your own admission.
Not to mention the post was based on other information supplied in a link.
There is no mystery as to why Bush was re-elected: Too many Americans can't think. |
I noticed you edited your OP. Good work. You should take out that part about the 'brain-dead,' however.
I don't want to have to read a rant of someone who knows they are 'right.' I want to read a thought-out analysis that takes the opposing side's viewpoint seriously. If only because the opposing side's viewpoint can sharpen that person's own analysis. I think my attitude is more intellectually honest than yours. |

Aren't you re-cycling criticisms that were first aimed at you? Kind of a pre-emptive strike, as it were. |

For a criticism to work, it has to be accurate. The criticisms from you, mm2, contrarian, the usual neo-con suspects, et al., are brainless prattle.
Got anything on topic, son? |

Contrarian, the mindless drone, strikes again! This is getting boring.
Here's an enlightening fact for you: Yet again, you enter a thread and post not on the topic, but personal tripe.
Bravo.
Same for Kuros, Ya-ta, et al.
Fabulous stuff, boys. Do dazzle us some more.

I fail to see the purpose of the op. When you review the history of war one thing stands out; WAR IS ALWAYS ABOUT ECONOMICS. Always has been and always will be. It may be about oil supplies, access to land (hence agriculture, mining, etc), or widgets, but it is always founded on an economic basis.
When I see people chanting "no blood for oil" it makes me smile. It is niave to think war has a moral imperative as its cause. Moral issues are always found AFTER the economic needs have been addressed.
This is why I do not see the need for an op like this one. The op merely states what is obvious to any and all. Thus it is pointless and does nothing to address the real issues. Prating about war for oil is quite juvenile. Rather than flog a dead horse why not start an op about removing the economic inequalities/desires that lead to war. |

THIS IS AN URGENT ACTION ALERT:
S 1959 "Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007" must be stopped.
Pick up your phone today and contact your US Senator's office to instruct them to vote "NO" on S.1959.
Click here for your Senators contact info:
http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm
Full PDF text of the bill:
http://...com/3a3y2z
If this bill is passed, and becomes law, your words and actions could be considered terrorism. S 1959 EVISCERATES FREE SPEECH, and empowers the govt. to declare ANYTHING they deem an "extremist belief system", instantly make you a terrorist, resulting in stripping of US citizenship, torture, and/or execution, with no habeas corpus rights, no ability to challenge even in the US Supreme Court.
Contact your Senator and let them know they will be looking for another job if they vote yes on this bill, which is now introduced into the Senate as S.1959 THIS BILL **MUST NOT** BECOME LAW, PERIOD.
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h110-1955
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=s110-1959
If this becomes law, your words could be considered "promoting an extremist belief system", and all they have to say is that you are using PLANNED OR THREATENED *FORCE* (DOES NOT HAVE TO BE VIOLENCE) --FORCE by exposing CORRUPTION, CRIMINALITY against "THE CIVILIAN POPULATION OF THE UNITED STATES, *****OR ANY SEGMENT THEREOF" READ THE BILL MANY TIMES AND VERY CAREFULLY--YOU ARE THE TERRORIST (WHICH MEANS THEY CAN STRIP YOUR CITIZENSHIP, AND HAVE YOU TORTURED AND EXECUTED).
Senate is back in session today, do not hesitate, call, fax, email your Senator ASAP.

Guess what? You failed to understand the OP. The OP is not about war for oil. It is about a, wait for it.... massive miscalculation.

Pollyanna. Nothing has changed since people started planting grains. It is excess production that allows for greed and exploitation. Unless you are ready to go back to a hunter-gatherer lifestyle, get used to the inequities. |

Witnesses Testify In Blackwater Lawsuit
By LARA JAKES JORDAN, Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON - A federal grand jury investigating Blackwater Worldwide heard witnesses Tuesday as a private lawsuit accused the government contractor's bodyguards of ignoring orders and abandoning their posts shortly before taking part in a Baghdad shooting that left 17 Iraqi civilians dead.
Filed this week in U.S. District Court in Washington, the civil complaint also accuses North Carolina-based Blackwater of failing to give drug tests to its guards in Baghdad even though an estimated one in four of them was using steroids or other "judgment altering substances."
A Blackwater spokeswoman said Tuesday its employees are banned from using steroids or other enhancement drugs but declined to comment on the other charges detailed in the 18-page lawsuit.
