The same way you do here, but you have to use an international calling code (00700 is pretty cheap) + canada's country code + area code + the number.

Type your text as per usual then type 001-1-(area code)-(phone number).
I have a card phone and sometimes it will work for me and sometimes it won't. However, when I reply to a text from someone in Canada it always works.
