but...mcdonald's sucks. did you eat it back home? was it delicious? i mean, like totally jaw dropping delicious? or did you pretty much buy it because it was convenient, fast, cheap and predictable?

if it ain't delicious and it ain't cheap (as in korea) and it ain't fast (as in korea where 10 minute waits are standard) are we just eating it out of "comfort" aspects?

but what if even the comfort is removed- such as not having the comfort items available? then it is pretty much that other burger joint- the one that has never even piqued my interest: lotte (sp?).

Being in a Macdonalds should be like being in the American Embassy.
It should be very Americanised. Nothing says America more than a Big Mac. Not serving a Big Mac is like spitting on the American flag. Its just not done, its offensive and its not Christian.

How would these heatens understand our cuisine. Its just a Big Mac its a way of life. Yes you deserve a break today. A break from that guastly bulgogi sauce.

Yea, the Big Mac is a big icon of America to the point that economists have been using for many years what is the called the Big Mac index when talking about the prices and cost of living in each country.

I was offended that I was denied a Big Mac time after time in Changwon, but now I just won't go to McDonalds again until I visit the states.

I only eat McDonalds about twice a month such as when I make a quick shopping trip during a lunch break and need fast food to save on time.

so...the standards of convenience, courtesy and promptness of the freakin US embassy is what a billion dollar enterprise should aspire to?

i disagree with the assertion that korean mcd's should be further "americanized". in many ways, they have features that exceeds the HQ's homenation standards: the selling of toys to lids/playgrounds is much less here, the recycling efort at the garbage can here is cool. the wooden furniture beats the heck out of the plastic institutional stuff back home.

it is a business. it should strive to please customers. sometimes we are but 2% of the customer base and they plan accordingly.

I think McD's is very cheap. 3000 or 35000 won sets at lunch time. if you order a Big Mac or Bulgogi Burger, you usually get you food in about 2 minutes.

you should start a protest or a candle light vigil outside of the mcdonalds...that'll show em.....they need to accommodate the whitey

On a recent trip to South Korea I visited a McDonald's in Changwon for
lunch only to find that they don't serve the Big Mac until after 3pm. I
found it very strange that I could get a Big Mac at McDonald's at lunch
time?

The McDonalds down my block opens at 10AM (but not sharp, they get around to unlocking the doors at about 10:20), and serves breakfast until 11AM
