They're all palindromes with a letter added at the beginning. |

What's the shortest word in English with all the vowels (and the "sometimes y") in alphabetical order? |

5+5+5+5 = 555
Using only one straight line (- / _ etc...) how can you make both sides of the equation equal? |

There is a bar. They have two kinds of beer, regular and special. A big sign behind the bar reads,
Special beer 1000 won
Regular beer 900 won
A man walks in and puts 1000 won on the bar. The bartenders pours him a special beer.
A few minutes later another man walks in and puts 1000 won on the bar.
The bartender asks him what he would like. The man replies, "Special Beer".
Why does the bartender ask the second man what he wants and not the first? |

no, both sides must be equal.
HIJKLMNO ..... I'm assuming it's not a sequential part of the alphabet... |

I don't remember how to make this one fun but here I try...
You're stuck in a room and in exactly 45 minutes the thick steel door will open. There's nothing in the room (no clocks, no nothing) except for 2 pieces of rope and 1 match. Each rope burns for exactly 1 hour when lit but at different rates. How can you calculate 45 minutes from using those two ropes ? |

So 1 rope may burn 90% of the way down in the first minute, then spend the remaining 59 minutes burning at various speeds? |

A man walks in and puts 1000 won on the bar. The bartenders pours him a special beer.
A few minutes later another man walks in and puts 1000 won on the bar.
The bartender asks him what he would like. The man replies, "Special Beer".
Why does the bartender ask the second man what he wants and not the first? |
Because the first man is a regular patron and he always orders the special beer. In fact, one day he even said, "I will always want the special beer, so you don't even have to ask me what I want. Just pour me the special beer every time I slap a 1000 won on the bar. "
And the bartender had never seen the second guy before, so he didn't know what he wanted. That's why he asked.
Seems too simple to be the answer you were looking for, but it seems plausible to me.
Or
The first man was wearing a shirt that said, "I want the special beer," and he pointed at it as he walked toward the bar.
The second man was wearing a shirt that said, "Ask me what kind of beer I want," and he pointed to it as he approached the bar."
This one is not as likely, but still possible. |

No and no.
The bartender has never seen either of the men before. They(3) have no relationship, they are wearing the exact same clothes, and might as well be twins. Yet still, the bartender knows something you don't. |

And a forward slash line to the top left of the first plus sign and you have a 5:
545+5+5 + 555 |
