The longest I've ever had to wait is a week. Ask for your money back and go to another hospital. |

Well, my school paid. I'm getting a bit paranoid about it actually, maybe i have some freaky disease or something they are all mulling over. actually, i'll be surprised if they even show me the results, i see it going something like this
ME- do you have my medical trests?
ADMIN- No, we sent them to the education department
ME- can i see them?
ADMIN- no!, they are confidential. |

I had a blood test and the results came back in 4 days. If I were in your shoes, I would go down there and raise hell until I got my results. That information isn't private. |

For anyone else who has to get a medical check in Korea. I suggest that you get it done yourself. Do not let the school get involved. My experience with my hagwon owner taking me to the doctor when I first got here was horrendous.
He played the "I helped you when you were sick" card for months trying to get me to do extra sh8it. He also proceeded to show my brother, who was visiting, all the medical information that had been collected from the hospital. This was when I snatched it out of his slimy hands and explained what was my business and what was his business.
If you have a doctor you trust, let them do it.
If you need a doctor who has a confidentiality policy that is similar to a US doctor/patient confidentiality, go to the International Clinic in Itaewon and have them do the tests. It may cost a bit, but at least you will receive your results and not some hagwon owner/ director.
That way, if you have some funky disease, only you will know unless you want someone else to know.
English hagowon owners (in general- 9.9 out of 10) are slimy, pathetic, weasle-like creatures. Do not trust them; especially with private records/ information. |

I disagree,
let the school get involved and therefore let them pay for it. |

You did the cheaper check, sans deep bowel probe, and that's why it's late.
Checks with the deep bowel probe are expedited in Korea, as they assume they are for important job applications, and the like.
The good news is that you can return to the clinic, ask a nurse for a "deep bowel probe" in Korean, and have it apostillized to your previous health check.
This will fast-track the return of your documentation.
Good luck. |

I had to do 2, one I paid for ....that was before I could get my visa finalized, the second the school paid for after I had been working for a month.
Why they needed the second, I have no idea, but they gave me the results about a week later.
There is definitely something wrong with what they are telling you. |

I recently went to Severance hospital, the hospital allied with Yonsei University. I had a blood test done.
I got the results 3 days later. It cost me about 75,000 won minus 30-odd thousand won because I have medical insurance.
My results show I am healthy, no diabetes, no HIV etc.
I suggest you go there, the hospital is massive, looks really fantastic inside, and I just felt it was very professional.
Look at my thread entitled 'Blood test', there's a link to Severance Hospital on there.

I just got the results today after kicking up a bit of a stink, the admin must have been hanging on to it for some reason. I'm slightly anaemic according to my blood tests, i'd really like to know what the rest of the results mean but it's all in korean other than "anaemic". bit scary actually as thats a drop in red blood cells, a symptom of being HIV+, i'd like to know what the rest of the reults mean and what exactly they tested for but thats just too much to ask, it's only my body after all. I think a trip to the itaewon intl. clinic is in order, may as well drop 150 000 won on getting results i can understand. |

Aenemia as a symptom of HIV...actually, there are about 5000 less serious things that are more likely causes of aenemia. If you're a little aenemic, eat spinach and red meat... |
