Just finished watching ep 9 - I had a feeling Doakes was going to follow him to the body. One thing I didn't get was why Doakes didn't tell anyone that he suspected Dex before he flew out of the country. And why leave the evidence inside the trunk of his car? Doesn't make sense. Drop it off at the precinct, give the FBI a suspect, let them do their job. Simple.

He'd have to explain how he got those slides.

He needed more proof before he could go to the feds.

Also, I think there is an element of ego in that he wants a big dramatic bust.

Maybe he feels he needs it to vindicate himself.

What's funny is that in the "real world" those slides might be inadmissable as evidence because Doakes broke into Dex's house to get them. That's not exactly legal, especially since it's a guy who seems to have a vendetta against him.

I watch Dexter every Sunday on Showtime-2 here and I love it.

But I hate how they are closing in on him toward the end of this season and in the next episode, he might be killing Det. Doaks....

I download it as soon as the next episode appears.

How will he solve the Doakes problem? I don't think he'll kill him in cold blood. Maybe the associates of the guy who owns the shack and coke will solve the problem for him.

He must die, either way, but I think it will be in a creative or unexpected way.

Absolutely. When they come 'home' to their cabin and don't find the other guy, Doakes is a dead man. Remember the number one rule ALWAYS outweighs everything else. DON'T GET CAUGHT.

It's an interesting point, but I think any good cops would find a way to get Dexter on something else. In Korea it might be possible for the police to let a clearly guilty serial killer walk free due to improper evidence but not in a country with competent cops.

i think lundy knows more than he lets on. he took a strong interest in dexter early on, even up to the point of getting a bit suspicious with his sloppy blood work in episode eight. he's gotten in deb's pants, which i think is a strategic move to get closer to dexter. he did the whole dramatic thing in episode nine dragging dex to the station without telling him what was going on, and let him sweat a bit before he said that doakes was his prime suspect. and the undercover cars that had been following dexter... i suspect dex was meant to see them following him, again just so he could make dex sweat a bit, and try to guage his reaction. all of that sweating was made to seem like it was for the audience's benifit, but i personally believe that lundy is onto dex.

dexter isn't going to flat out kill doakes, or else he would have done so already.

good episode.

Yeah, I'm with you there, Super-fly. Doaks really choked on a large dumb pill there I tell ya! It's interesting to see the loyalties in the Police precinct as well. It's going to be really interesting to see how power is played out.

I think if I were Dexter, I would cut a deal with Doaks, tell him to be quiet and make the evidence point to neither of them, take the girl & the kids and dissapear to Uruguay (or Korea) to teach EFL. Laughing

Very Happy

If Doakes never talks to anyone, then Dex should be OK, especially the person you guys aren't mentioning - LaGuerta who still has an attraction to Dexter, even though the writers haven't played that too much in this season. Anyone remember how bad she wanted to shag Dex last season? I think that angle is coming soon.

Doaks WILL/WOULD talk, he made it his point to bring Dexter down, even at the cost of losing his job and Dexter knows this, which is why he set Doaks up at the end of the previous episode to be suspended....he was getting WAY to close for Dexter's own good.

Another dangerous one is Lila (that sexy british babe.....meow!!! Wink ). She is hooked on Dexter to the point that she torched her place and broke into the other gf's place to search for Dexter......according to the previews for the next show, she will sleep with that pudgy hispanic detective to get at Dexter.....I want to see where that leads.....especially since there is only 3 more episodes for this season......

I'm worried she will burn Batista's house down with him in it! And Dexter can't warn him about her pyromania, because he would tell her for sure, and that would set her off!

He should really hook her up with Masuka. He could handle it. He's probably just as freaky.

It's funny how the show makes you see things from Dexters perspective, and any problem he has, you think "Just kill them. That'll solve it."

But for all of Lila's craziness, does she actually know any of Dexter's secrets? She's clearly a liability, but Doakes is the one with all the dirt, Lila is just nuts.

She knows that his mother was brutally murdered, and that's all they need to tie him to the ice truck killer. Once they tie him to the ice truck killer, he's as good as dead.

She knows about Dexter's mother's murder, but thats about it.
But in the last episode, they discovered that one of the cars from the police impound was used in the killing of one of Dexter's many "victims". I know in the show they won't find anything- because they want to keep the series going....maybe.....but in many "real" police departments, the CCTVs they usually install in places like that would've caught him red-handed........but I guess for the sake of the show, they dropped small details like that Confused
