I though it would be nice to have a positive spin-off to Ya-ta Boy's thread!
Here are some simple pleasures for me:
Falling asleep in front of the TV
Getting the good seat on the subway
When paying for something, discovering that you have exact change
Learning something new that has absolutely no impact on your life
Learning something new that has a profound impact on your life
The smell and cool air after a brief thunderstorm in Summer
Smiles
What are some of life's simple pleasures for you? |

Feeling the warming sun on a cold morning.
Eating gamjatang with a bunch of mates
Riding a motorcycle on a busy pavement and watching everyone scatter |

A steak barbecued on a REAL [not Korean] barbecue medium well done by myself that had been marinating for the past 36 hours, with a garden salad with Stella Artois beer. |

Hiking along a desolate New Zealand beach and not seeing a soul for a week.
Having absolutely no work to do - assignments pending or school planning to do and knowing you have a stack of free time and money to do anything you want.
Sitting with people you don't hate at lunchtime.
Finding money in a jacket pocket you haven't worn for a while.
Getting high or drunk, learning a new guitar song, forgetting you learned it, picking up the guitar a week later and remembering you learned a new song and nail it on the first try.

having one of those long (like 45 second) continuous farts and the pressure drop that follows
having a 1:1 lesson with an adult who likes to talk about philosophy, religion and politics (because the time flies)
waking up to breakfast in bed on a cold Sunday morning
getting a cab right before it starts pouring down rain
an ice cold beer after working 13 straight hours
hot sauce so hot the endorphin release gives you a brain orgasm
farting in the elevator right before you get off and your boss gets on......
finally, san nakgi always makes me happy |

Flame-broiled bacon cheeseburger bbq'ed on a lazy Sunday, timed perfectly to watch a great NFL game.
Cold, frothy beer with a paper-thin layer of ice on top.
Cold, clear mornings in autumn in Korea, best season of the year.
Getting your severance pay, 100% complete, no hassles, no drama, all cash.
Crispy, ironed white shirts back from the dry-cleaner.
New snow, that no one's walked across or pissed on.
Freshly, baked bread. |

The smell of gingerbread baking in the oven on a Saturday morning...and knowing all of it is yours.
The sound of dry leaves crunching when you walk in the fall.
The first taste of any kind of cheesecake ice cream at Baskin Robbins.
Sunsets over the Philippine Sea. |

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs |

*Cleaning your apartment from top to toe. Waking up the next day and it's nice and clean. And you don't need to take dirty things out of the sink to wash some plates or a pot up for breakfast. And there's not crap everywhere.
*Eating my dinner then having a nap (at home) or falling asleep in front of the telly (2nd).
*having beer/wine in the fridge that has been there all week.
*ondol heating (on the feet) (Recent)
*Waking up at 7am on saturday and realising that you don't have to get up.
*Seeing the sunrise and mist on the mountains near my house. And actually getting a good photo of it. And being able to sit down and enjoy it.
*Knowing after school on Friday's that I can put on my easy pants and baggy t-shirt, ondol heating on, then can cook something nice for myself, listen to some downbeat ambient music, have a beer or two, have a film to watch, and know I'm not going to be bothered by anyone. Probably my favourite. (See 2 above ^^, these are linked, friday nights and saturday mornings are skill) |

Saturday Night drinking with Hockey Night in Canada and then being hungover and watching NFL football all Sunday with some pizza, McDonalds, and some of Vancouver's finest. |
