I have some things like a bounced check, trespassing, and driving with a suspended license from when I was younger.
Hardly sex or drug crimes.
If you have any record at all are you not allowed to tech here? Someone mentioned they were targeting specific offenses. Since I lived in Texas these crimes will never drop off my record. In other states they would. Now if they accept local checks I could just get my check done in Arizona and none of this would show up. Which is stupid. I'm not ashamed of saying I made mistakes in my life.
I'm here now teaching, never broke a law in Korea. Come May I will have to renew or leave I guess.
A friend mentioned they will only restrict sex offenders and people convicted of using/having drugs. If this is the case I guess this opens the door for me to work in a public school since the state will be doing criminal checks now. Good for me, I suppose... if that is the case.
I do think the STD thing is unfair though. That's just wrong and shows Korean nature to discriminate. |

I know a guy fron England who has a record for a crime he committed as a juvinile. It appeared on his full criminal check but not his short check. He submitted the first with one job and got rejected. He submitted the short check the next time round and was OK (public schools). |

Then you should get the one from Arizona and have it apostatized (sp?). I think they are accepting local checks, but who knows......no one knows right now.
Even if you had an FBI check, I don't think minor misdemeanors are going to show up; unless you were booked and fingerprinted and the prints were entered into the national system.
I got my local police report (state) sent to me from the states and I have, literally, thirty speeding offenses. Most of them were dropped (all but two) because I worked at a law firm and then for the courts; but still, it looks bad having 4 pages of any kind of offenses.
I wonder if I would get turned down for an E because I have more pages than other waygookin? I'd guess yes because they won't understand the cryptic court system abbreviations. |

I went through the fingerprinting and whole bit with two of them. So yes, I'm sure they are in the system. I believe they will show up on an FBI check and Texas check only. |
