Most posters here are from countries where Pool is king, whether it be 9 ball or 8 ball.

I've just started playing billiards in the Billiard Halls here in Korea (단구장). It's actually a very good game. The first time I saw it was on TV and I thought there was little point to a game without pockets but I was wrong.

The game probably requires more skill than Pool, which can be won through good luck sometimes.

The teachers I play with use a handicap system, giving everyone the chance of a good game (like Golf really). I like this handicap system.

I've only been twice so far, but I'm going again tonight. I haven't seen any other foreigners yet. Has anyone else tried playing Billiards? Do any foreigners play billiards regularly here in South Korea? What do others think of the game?

Also if you live in Cheongju and are interested in the occasional game please PM me.

Billiards is ok, but pool, or pocket ball here in K-land, IS king.

Many people favor snooker, and I have yet to hear of a snooker table in Korea.

My main problem with the billiard/pool halls here is that they DON'T SERVE BEER. WTF is that? I heard it had to do with gambling laws or something, but who knows.

I bring in my own beer. Only a couple times has a pool hall said "no" to the beer.

I have seen snooker on the TV, but no tables anywhere.
I used to play 15 ball pool in the UK, smaller balls and tighter pockets Exclamation

I have played 3-cushion with my brother in law and friends a few times and really like it. I think it also goes by the name of 'carom'.

I am always up for a game, but I live in Suwon so unsure as to how feasible that is.
