can anyone reccomend a cheap hostel or motel near central daegu? a phone number and anyother info would be great! Thanks

There are lots of motels for 25,000-35,000 a night near downtown Daegu. There is one that's about a 5 minute walk from Lotte Department store. I'll try directions:

Stand and face the Pizza Hut (which is across the street from Lotte)...cross the street to Pizza Hut....still facing Pizza Hut, turn left and cross the main road...keep walking for 3-5 minutes. It's the only motel on that street, kind of set back from the road. This one is 25,000 won per night. (apologies in advance if you get lost ).

There are lots around the train station and the express bus station. Shop around, one will be 75,000 and another just across the street will be 25,000 for the same basic room.

Around city hall there a few cheap ones. City hall is just north of that big park downtown with the old Bell on the corner. City hall is across the main street and down the northward street.
One is 20,000. I asume others in the area are comparable.

Basically older, grimier looking ones are the cheapies.
