I work in GEPIK. Today I was informed by my Korean co-teacher that I may get pro-rated pay in January and February because my contract only allows for two weeks paid vacation. Since the winter vacation is much longer, the school might deduct pay.
Is this normal?
I told her that if I would come to school and sit in my desk.
None of my paid sick days have been used. If my pay gets deducted, I will be calling in sick when school is in session. |

Heh you can't leave the country during that time you're not at work, not sure how they think you're on vacation. |

IF they are refering to your base SALARY It is NOT normal. Call your GEPIK liason and complain. It is also illegal under the Korean Labor Act.
IF they are refering to that portion of your pay for the afterschool classes, IT IS NORMAL. It is NORMAL to NOT get paid for afterschool classes that you do NOT teach.
