Are products in Costco such as the Tender loin beef steak (63000 won) and New York beef steak (61000 won) cheaper in Homeplus, Emart etc.

here is a link to the costco website with the stuff I am talking about, they weigh in at about 1.4kg according the website description:

The prices quoted on the website are a bit higher than what they are at the store. When I was at Costco last week, the tenderloin pack was around 48,000-53,000 won (but it varies depending on the actual weight of the package).

the cheapest steak i've seen in korea would have to be homeplus. saw some for 900 won/100g (wasn't new york but it wasnt hamburger or bulgogi either). real tasty too. aussie.

costco seems a bit more expensive, but it's cheaper than emart.

i've never tried to buy more premium cuts so i wouldn't know about those.

I just have 미국산 (mi gook san) and 한국산 where i am. the locals tend to stay away from 미국산 because it is, well, from cows reared in 미국 land but its cheaper than the Korean stuff, easy to get the fat off and very tasty and easy to cook.

I actually put down the two cuts above because my ma said that would be best to make curries of everything that costco offered.

I have to learn how to cook some decent meals because I am way out in the goonies.

i would go with a cheaper cut of beef. skirt steak (like i use for mexican) or even bulgogi meat (the really thinly cut stuff)...the texture will be different than what you're used to but hey, it's curry...you dont gotta use premium cuts cuz you wont really taste the beef, will ya?

i can't always read the specific cuts on the korean labels, but basically if it looks like steak and it's reasonably priced, i buy it. haven't been disappointed yet.

한글 글자를 안 놓았어요. 한글쓰기 실력이 좀 좋아서 가끔 한글로 써봐요. 한국어를 배워 본 적이 있으세요? 배워 보세요.

즐거운 하루 돼요.

Very Happy

Ill start off with chicken thigh as its my first attempt and knowing me it will be a disaster the first time round. I know they sell loads of stuff at homeplus so ill just have to get round to checking it out later on.
