On a few occasions, I have been shopping and had bought a few things for which a plastic bag would've made life a whole lot easier.
I would ask as I was passing through checkout, only to be ignored by the cashier.
As she started processing the next customer, I would leave the till with a disgruntled look on my face, muttering to myself. 
It finally dawned on me last night: I had been getting the words for carrier bag(봉두) and pencil case(필통) mixed up
On more times than I can remember, my request for a pencil case to carry my shopping was totally ignored. I would then leave disgruntled and muttering what an anti-foreigner place this really was. |

Interesting. I always thought pencil case was 연필통.
I have never heard of it being called 필통. Is there any difference? |

Probably the habit of chopping words to make them easier. |

Not as bad as mine: instead of saying 영원히 사랑해 (I'll love you always) I said 원숭이 사랑해 (I love monkeys)... she never let me forget it, but in the end it turned into our "thing".
Then with another gf, instead of saying 뭐 하고 싶어요? (what do you want to do?) I forgot the 뭐 and ended up with 하고 싶어요? (want to do it?) |

| This is probably more of an urban legend, but a funny story still. A Korean girl met a Canadian guy online, and they chatted with each other and fell in love before ever meeting. She told him the Korean word 자기야, so they would call each other "jagiya" online. Finally the guy decided to come to Korea to meet the woman of his dreams. He showed up at the airport, saw her and recognised her from his picture, and yelled 자지야!" |

Who was it on here that wanted some film and asked the clerk for 푸지, and her dad came running out of the back room ready to kill him? |

I thought the word for vagina was 'ship' and sell is 'paliyo' so....
'ship-pal' (eighteen) means 'sell vagina?'. I am not sure of the spelling but you get the point. |

I understood that it was a dialect issue. What is pronounced 보지 in Seoul was pronounced similar to 푸지 in Busan(?) |

| I just say "One Bag" when shopping at the Supermarket. Never had a problem. |
