I have been waiting for my visa confirmation number to come through since last Monday, so that's 11 days.

The recruiter told me it would take 'about a week' to come through.

Is this usual? Should I be worried at all? If my visa application came up with problems would they have told me by now?

Thanks guys.

I waited a month once. Got fed up and took another job. After getting to Korea I discovered that the first job visa had just processed.

Not unusual.

Thanks for your reply.

Did you have to order a copy of your degree certificate and transcripts all over again? That's what I'm going to have to do if my visa doesn't come through.

And could it have anything to do with this E2 regulation changing business maybe?

Thanks again.

It usually takes about 3 weeks, from my experience. 2 weeks if they rush it. I think your recruiter was just being hopeful.

I did, but that was due to some extenuating circumstances.

Often a recruiter will tell you that the visa issuance should take about a week. But the reality is that there is NO set time for issuance. it all depends on how busy the immigration offices are at the time of processing. The timeframe is between 1-4 weeks. The average seems to be 1-2 weeks though. So dont buy a ticket too early - you may have to change your travel dates too often.
