Which place is the best to go as far as in general while partying and just seeing something new? Also, do you think either is worth the $560 plane ticket cost for just three days?

This post will get deleted because it belongs in the travel forum. But I'll say that Bangkok is much better than Singapore. Singapore hotels are either way too expensive or scary Shocked !!!! I've never seen such nasty hotels as I've seen in Singapore. You need a good 200-300 US dollars a night for a decent hotel in Singapore and don't even think of just showing up without a reservation. Bangkok, you can find decent hotels easy in the 500 baht per night range. As for only three days.... that's not enough time, IMHO.

That is like saying

Should I go to my grandmas Christmas party, or the Frat party........

BANGKOK! You will never EVER regret it, but bring protection, and YES, it is worth the money for three days.

Wrong, both places are crawling with hookers as you implied, "bring protection." But why make a special trip for that when they are readily available in Korea. Just ask your favorite ajosshi or TESL bum in Korea.

Anyway, Bangkok is the best but you have to know what you are doing if you want see the BEST of it. Most tourists only see the worst and walk away thinking that's the best the city has to offer. They are dead wrong.

Oh, come on. You think a country like Thailand doesn't have mosquito repellant or sun cream!? Rolling Eyes I have no idea what you mean by "moto insurance." Whatever "protection" you are talking about, you can easily find it in Thailand. No need to pack for it.

I paid about 80/night for a room without any windows, a hot water heater that barely worked, maids coming by at 7am pounding on the door so they can clean. I obviously spent as much time as possible away from my room, even when I was dead tired from walking around all day.

Bangkok is much better for partying. Singapore is a great city but is as expensive as any western city. Your won/dollars/___ currency will go a lot further in Thailand.

3 days? I'd personally wait until my contract was up and I could take a longer trip.

i stayed at a YMCA in a central location. it ran about $40/night for a nice hostel style room (nice bathroom & shower facilities). they also had private doubles for around $100 i think. i stayed there with my friend the next night and they were excellent rooms. maybe you just had bad luck my friend.

if it's just three days, you could see more of singapore than you could of bangkok. just my opinion. singapore's the *beep*!

There are many affordable and clean hotels in Singapore. Expect to pay 80$ to stay near the city. Bkk is a raging disgusting dump and one of the least charming cities on earth. But, if you are just looking for a party and picking between Singapore and Bkk then head to Bkk. The nightlife here in Singapore is ok but I suspect you are looking for more of a wild nightlife. Nothing in Singapore is wild. If you have more money to spend and want to have a classy experience then Singapore is your best bet. Or, better yet, Hong Kong.
