My friend has 4 LOTTE Dept. Store gift certificates for sale. They are worth 100,000 KRW each.

Selling for 95,000 KRW each.

You can use them at any LOTTE Dept. Store, LOTTE Mart, or LOTTE online.

PM if interested.

Why would anyone bother at just 5,000 won discount?

My lady tells me you can often exchange these things for about that much at those shoeshine boxes they have around town. You could get your money there easily.

I can't say what type of "exchange" rate they'd give you, but I bought some Esquire gift certificates at one of those shoe shine places in Myoungdong. The face value of the gift certs were 200,00won and I paid just under 140,000. I heard they will buy them from you for 50% of the face value.

Really? I heard they'd pay over 90%, but I've never tried it to see if that is true.

I love when these come up. 95,000 for 100,000 won certificates......one every couple months.

Maybe your friend should just give them back to the person that gave the gift?
