| I keep hearing, "You're so kind!" with the accompanying wide eyes. Is this Korean for "You're stupid and you're being taken for a ride?" |

they think all western foreigners are selfish and individualistic minded so it is shocks them to see otherwise just like when we show we like spicy food  |

Bingo. I'm sure that one of the Korean tranlations for 'kind' must mean 'compliant'. |

My kindness to my coteachers is well rewarded, however. |

I have found most foreigners I met in Korea to be "tremendously kind and generous"......especially when giving up their seat to seniors on the subway.....
