Hi - I have ethical problems with these adoptions. When real parents have babies, they take major risks. The baby might be diseased leading to major medical bills and heartbreak. These kind of adoptions? You get to avoid that, you get to shop for the cutest ones and by pass the diseased ones. You also get to avoid the funny looking ones, the fat ones and the dumb ones. You really do get to go shopping. The post war Korean adoptees were popular due to racism. East Asian kids are easily the cutest kids on the planet.
Next to that, you get mix in political motives and that not a good reason to adopt a child. Its a form of child abuse. "I only love you because you are a protest sign or fashion statement, son".
If adoptive parents want want the credibility of real parents, they should enter into a lottery and accept the child present to them randomly. If they did that, they'd likely get a 14 year old African American boy with a learning disability, a juvey record and medications for behavior problems. Who wants that? No one wants that. People want a nice cute baby.
I'm just not accepting these people as selfless as promoted and I'm a little tired of being pushed around by it. |
