I hope the UGA-Hawaii game is as good as the OU-BSU game was last year. I have a feeling UGA will kill Hawaii, since HI could barely get past a lousy UW team.

Well, the bowls are set. LSU did get the nod. Vtech came in at third and was first in the computer ranking but got killed by the pollsters.
I foresee bad times for the Big Ten. OSU plays LSU in Lousianna (New Orleans), Illinois plays USC in California (Pasadena), Michigan plays Florida in Florida (Orlando) and we all know how well UM handles "mobile quarterbacks." Ouch. |
Well, things might not be so bad. LSU got really banged up in the SEC championship game. I swear at least 5 of their guys got knocked out by injury. Also, Dorsey has been hurt for a lot of the year. If he doesn't heal up in time, that's a very winnable game.
Now, Illinois might indeed get pasted, it's hard to say. I haven't seem them play this year and USC is supposedly playing great, though I am not sure how much of that is because of their opponents.
And finally, UM can definitely knock off Florida. Florida's defense is very young this year. All UM has to do is reign in Harvin and Tebow. Oh, and I know Tebow has this great reputation as a mobile quarterback, but he seems to have the speed of an average running back. What makes him dangerous is the Tebow play-action to himself where he fakes a run and then passes. If UM's front four can stop Tebow, the secondary won't get sucked in by the play-action and you'll have a good ballgame. |

hard not to like a guy with his background. homeschooled, lived in the PI as a kid. hard to beat 20 passing & 20 rushing TDs.
that said, brennan is the greatest college passer ever. numbers don't lie. and he missed about two games this year due to injury.
the cotton bowl between mizzou and arkansas will feature #2 and #4 in the heisman voting. |

| I kind of wish they would wait until after the bowl games to give out the individual awards. How many Heisman winners have played poorly in a bowl game after receiving the award? |

Look. If I'm working a winter camp that day, everything stops and everybody's watching that game.
I don't care what I gotta do. If I gotta hack someone's Slingbox, then damnit that's good enough for me.
If I gotta take an entire winter camp to a PC bang and have them all look for a live feed off ABC or FOX then damnit that's what I'll do.
If I gotta borrow one of y'alls Satellite dishes for a couple hours, then damnit that's what I gotta do. What're you gonna do, call the cops? You've heard the stories; you've read the blogs. What do you think is gonna happen?
If I gotta tape 50 coat-hangers to a B&W TV, and hook up the power supply of the bus' battery to that TV, then that's how I'll handle ma bizness.
I'm watching this game.
If you see a group of kids chanting LSU! LSU! LSU!, they're probably from my camp. |

Well guys, I am out of here. I fly back to San Diego tomorrow. Thanks for all the football talk. Luckily for me, I am getting home with nothing to do but watch all of the bowls, the final two weeks of the NFL regular season, and of course the playoffs. My final thoughts on the bowls:
My team, Fresno State: ROADY'S HUMANITARIAN BOWL
Fresno State (8-4) vs Georgia Tech (7-5) We beat them in 2002, and we will beat them this year. Go Dogs! Plus, I get to watch this game on a 50" flat screen, yesss!!!
THE ROSE BOWL GAME
No. 7 USC (10-2) vs No. 13 Illinois (9-3)
ALLSTATE SUGAR BOWL
No. 5 Georgia (10-2) vs No. 10 Hawaii (12-0)
TOSTITOS FIESTA BOWL
No. 4 Oklahoma (11-2) vs No. 9 West Virginia (10-2)
FEDEX ORANGE BOWL
No. 3 Virginia Tech (11-2) vs No. 8 Kansas (11-1)
ALLSTATE BCS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
No. 1 Ohio State (11-1) vs No. 2 LSU (11-2) (sorry Hogwonguy and flakfizer!)
Alrighty guys, later!
Edit. While I am at it, Super Bowl:
San Diego 27 Green Bay 13, why not? |

| I get to actually watch a bowl game in person this year! Granted, it's the Humanitarian Bowl, and it's in Boise, but what the heck. Sting 'em Jackets! |

Well, at least I was right on the money about one game this year. Tebow had very mediocre passing stats and a very sub-par running game. Looks like the UM front four got good pressure (at least in the first half) and as a result Tebow wasn't throwing to wide-open receievers all night. (I'm not a big Tebow fan, if you haven't noticed. Yes, he had a great year, but as Steve Spurrier said, anyone can look great if they're throwing to wide-open receivers all game.) |

I've been watching most every game today so far the Mich game was the best of the bunch, nice win to send Carr out on
USC looked aboslutely incredible in the Rose Bowl
so far the Sugar Bowl has been awful, Hawaii looks simply outclassed by Ga so far.
BTW I saw the for $20/game $40 overall you can get the BCS streamed online. |
