i have been trying to find how to file the paperwork for this. i got married last week.
how do i file the paperwork for both korea and america?
how do i change my visa?
any advice?

By getting married, I take it you mean you had the ceremony.
The next step would be going to the embassy, the local-gu office and then back to the embassy for them to finish the paperwork. If you plan it right, you can probably do it in a couple of hours.

Yep. You're not married at all here if you didn't do the paperwork. In the US, an officiant for a marriage can be one of a number of people (judges, priests, ministers, justices of the peace, etc.); however, in Korea, there is no such system.

Take your wife, ARC, passport and wedding documents to immigration and fill in the application form. Pay the fee and it is done. |

| It is easy. Just make sure you have ALL relavant documents and that they are COMPLETELY filled out. Also, your korean spouse will need to hare his/her family registy translated into English and notorized (the are a ton of shops around the US Embassy that can do that for you). Aside frpm waiting in lines it shouldn't take you more that a couple of hours. |

There isn't anything in the whole wide world that the correct documents and a trip to Immy can't sort....  |
