i believe Ms. is for unmarried or widowed women.

Miss is for younger women.

and Mrs. is for married women.

Confused

You believe wrong. Mrs is for married, Miss is for unmarried, and Ms can be either married or unmarried the same way Mr can.

Correct...Ms. is for those women who don't want to specify their status, be it single, married, widowed etc.

LOL I think what I am hung up on is the inevitable question that may come with the definition of Ms., at least here.:
"Why wouldn't you want to tell people you were married?" Wink

Yes, but TMKATM, here you "have to" be married by a certain age. You should be proud to flaunt the fact that you are married, no matter how bad your marriage actually is. Wink

Sorry about that I didn't catch the qualification of being here.

'Old miss' is an interesting bit of konglish that wouldnt go over too well in the west!

Talking to a 30ish Korean woman recently, she announces she's getting married next May. 'Congratulations! Who's your fiance?' 'I dont know. I havent met him yet.'

I'm Ms. And even if, god forbid, I get married I would keep my surname and title Ms.

When I hear anyone address me as Miss it makes me feel like I'm a little girl.

As usual, I didn't read the other posts, so sorry if I post nothing new.

Mrs., as I've learned, means Mister's
