Thought I might start a thread off for people who wanted to talk, argue etc about the English Premier league. Can't find a previous thread so thought might start this.

At the moment feeling pleased to be an Arsenal fan, Villa can be very tricky to beat as I rate O'Neill as an excellent manager, so very pleased to get the three points after going one-nil down. Chelsea cheating bunch again, cole was offside. Spurs, I really have no idea anymore. Can this be rock bottom before they pick things up???? Ideas? Slating? Put it here!

Spurs can't defend a warm cup of snot at the moment. I think Ramos is a better tactician than Jol was, but Robbie blinking Keane let his side down last night. This may sound crazy, but Spurs really miss Ledley King at the back. It's a pity he's made from cheap glass.

Kills me to say it, but Arsenal are playing some I've the prettiest football I've seen in ages. The BBC likened them to Holland '74 after the Villa game. I dunno if I'd go that far, but they're very easy on the eye that's for sure.

i think it's hilarious that tottenham lost to birmingham city. freaking hilarious.

i'm pleased that sunderland managed to move up out of the relegation zone with their win. i adore Keano.

i'm not sure how i feel about Benitez's current issues with the American owners. i'm a Liverpool fan and i *think* i like Rafa, but drawing and winning are two different things -- we've been doing too much of the former and not enough of the latter.

re: arsenal, i love watching their game. what's going to happen when Wenger leaves? will their style and flair go with him?

Wenger ain't going anywhere. This season seems to be different from most others as we are actually going 1-0 down and still playing the same way and wearing the opponents down. Hoping it will last. Amazed that Chelsea let Diarra come to us, he's been mint for the last few games, and that's even without Fabregas. The only point i want to raise is to do with Gallas, he's so pumped up every game, think he needs to lay off the animal hormones.

Want sunderland to stay up, but keano must look at his team sheet every week and start crying at the lack of options or good players. If he stays up then fair dues to him.

Good to see Newcastle's pain the ass team doing badly. Smith, Barton, Milner are all mouthy sheets, just bring back Bellamy and you've got one badass team. Their christmas parties must all end up in a jail somewhere.

I've always followed West Ham, but my eyes are fixed on Bristol City in the Championship at the moment.

There at home to Ipswich tonight who haven't won away from home this season yet.

An optimistic Liverpool fan here.

I don't think it's too surprising that Benetiz has problems with the American owners. How much do they know about football in Britain?

I still think Arsenal will come top this year so I'm really hoping for Liverpool second. Chelsea look fragile. They could implode. As for Utd.....I never write them off!!!!

Think my pre-season prediction was:

    Man Utd
    Chelsea
    Liverpool
    Tottenham
    _________
    Arsenal

Although I'd now say it will be:

    Man Utd
    Arsenal
    Liverpool
    Man City
    __________
    Chelsea

But hey, I'm an idiot, so what do I know.

I'm talking about the owners reluctance to cough up for transfer funds in January. But it's a genuine question......how much do these guys know about the British game?

I find the whole Benitez thing crazy. You need a manager to be in for an amount of time, he needs money, he needs to build the team, then he needs to win something, and then to carry that on for as long as possible.

Mourinho was lucky to inherit a good team from Ranieri. He didn't really need to add much. He then used his tactics (dull as they are) and motivation. I think after a while though being arrogant like that to the media means that when they smell the chance of getting you fired they'll do it in an instant. Abramovic wanted the CL cup. League got a bit boring. Mourinho couldn't give him the CL. He's gone!

Benitez has had a good bit of time and money to improve the team. I'd really give him until the end of next season before firing him. He's just got Torres, who's doing really well, but foreign players kick ass in their second year. He's won the CL and got to the final again. I think the "main" teams have a lot of marketing ideals they need to cover. If benitez is fired it's because teh liverpool brand is not living up the owners expectations.

Fergie's doing well, he's boought himself a couple more years by winning the PL last year. It wasn't so long ago that people said he was a spent force and should be fired..

Wenger, plays beautiful football. We got to the CL final and .........lost(crushed spirit, still hurts) But we're always thereabouts every year.

Thought Jol was a good guy. Spent a wad of cash and didn't see the results. I think there's a lot of teams where the Chairman puts ridiculous expectations on managers directly. A couple: Newcastle, Tottenham, bad results and they're gone. That's why I like to see Everton. Moyes is an excellent manager who's done well for a few seasons and he's backed by the chairman and he's been given time to do it.

my mistake.

Business men want money. Abramovic probably knew naff all about football and chelsea before he bought them, apart from studying figures and being told it'd be a really good investment. Same goes for Liverpool and Man United. Big business, image, the product, moolah! The beautiful game comes second. That's why English players are so woeful in World/euro comps. Overrated, overpaid cindy dolls.

I'd waited long enough. I fucking him hard. The ball was there (I think). Take that you cunt. And don't ever stand over me sneering about fake injuries.....

Even in the dressing room afterwards, I had no remorse. My attitude was, fuck him. What goes around comes around. He got his just rewards. He fucked me over and my attitude is an eye for an eye.

...you're a liar...you're a fucking wanker. I didn't rate you as a player, I don't rate you as a manager, and I don't rate you as a person. You're a fucking wanker and you can stick your World Cup up your arse. The only reason I have any dealings with you is that somehow you are the manager of my country! You can stick it up your bollocks.

and you're not even Irish you English cunt!

oh yeah...Keano...great guy

Too right to the above, thug of a player (albeit a good one) and a mouthy pikey gobshite knacker to boot. Comes out and says something about the arrogance of the English team after the defeat to Croatia, only to see his pile of mackem crap trounced 7-1 the next week. Tosser.
