Hi everyone,
I want to get finger printed so I can being the criminal record check process, but am unsure of where to get them done so they fit the follwoing requirements (in English):

- rolled and flat impressions of all ten fingers taken with black ink
- full name, date of birth and sex of the applicant
- the name and address of the police agency
- the signature of the official taking the fingerprints

Any help is appreciated as I don't feel like chasing the Korean goose on this one.

The local police boxes (small stations) cannot do them.
The large GU-stations can do them.
The city police headquarters can also do them.

Try calling them (interpreter line) at 1588-5644 and asking for the location nearest to you.

I got my fingerprints done today at one of the big police stations. He was having a difficult time using the ink and roll method. So, he used the electronic scanning method and printed off the results. The electronic method gave much sharper prints.

The headquarters is located at Seodaemun Station (#532) on line 5. Take exit 7 and go to the Buk-gwan (pronounced bookgwan) building - the farthest west building from the exit. It's on the 4th floor in room 401 and it's called, of all things, the finger printing office. Their number is 313-0720.

DO NOT count on any of your local offices to have someone who speaks English. I was directed to 3 offices in Gunpo, all of whom were said to have an English speaking rep., and guess what?
