So, mm2, your observation is that the current American government has respected their constitution? That all the laws they have passed, and that are in effect, are in full legal line with the constitution?

No, he's saying that the courts will invalidate the law. The problem is that this process can take years, and in the meanwhile, many lives are destroyed, lots of liberty is lost, and we are diminished as a country as a result.

Worse yet, courts do not always decide correctly. Then it could take decades before another court overturns it. I think lawmakers ought to be held accountable for voting for clearly unconstitutional laws in the first place.

Well, depends. Some laws that are so manifestly in violation of the constitution are challenged right away, before anyone is even arrested. I would think if (and that's a big if) the article's interpretation of the proposed law is accurate, it wouldn't be long. I seem to recall a previous congressional attempt to curtail internet porn was challenged ASAP.

To thepeel, many people who are in support of gun control see certain laws as reasonable and responsible and not a constitutional violation. Those who are pro-gun immediately see it as an infringement. When congress passes laws, they are always infringing upon the actions of others. Oh well. You got a better system of government?

I sure don't. The American system is the best ever conceived.

Ditto. And another good reason to support Ron Paul for president.
