I want to get my guy some poker chips for christmas, but I'm not sure where to look for them. I've heard that you can get them online, but I don't want to go through the hassle of asking my co-teacher for help. Anyone have any ideas where I can pick up a nice set? |

Great question. I looked at the big department store chains and also asked Korean co-teachers and friends. No one knew. I ended up using 10 won coins until I had some chips sent to me from overseas. |

They are a bit on the expensive side but they are the nice clay ones...not those damned plastic ones.
the bicycle cards are 10,000won a pack ( i suggest going to the local convience store as they have them for 6,000) |

I saw the plastic ones in the Bandi and Lundi Bookstore in COEX (Samsung station, between Kangnam and Chamshil) before. |

I've got those chips from the Hamilton Hotel on my wish-list too. I've stopped by a few times to gawk - each time I was quoted the same prices - they have three sizes, at 40, 50, and 70000. Each come in those cool little steel nuclear-launch codes suitcases. They also sell extra sleeves of colour chips, at 10000 per. The woman told me she would throw in two decks of cards for free if I bought the big set. She would've had a deal if I hadn't already spent my walkin-around money on Turkish kebabs that day. |
