Supposed to recommend some. I'm thinking no rated R, maybe mostly action/comedy?
A few ideas so far:
The Prestige (Drama)
Batman Begins (Action)
Stardust (Fantasy)
Transformers (Action)
Bourne Ultimatum (if they've seen the first ones)
Pirates of the Caribbean - At worlds end (or earlier ones)
Eragon (Fantasy)
Offside (Sports Comedy)
The Emperor's New Groove (Comedy)
The Incredibles (Comedy)
The Princess Bride (Comedy)

My kids were really digging Finding Nemo. I played that last week while I was doing individual speaking evaluations (to keep the other kids occupied).
Anything Harry Potter.
No R rated movies for sure. Do you teach middle school? Some of those movies you suggested wouldn't be so hot for elementary students. |

The "Poseidon Adventure" remake has gotten good reviews (ie. when I stop the movie at the end of class, I am greeted with a sustained and painful "aaawwwwww!").
"Ghost Ship" has likewise gotten good reviews though I have had to black out one or two scenes. (and yes....it has the '15' rating on it along with the approval of my three co-teachers). |

Yeah, it's middle school. I don't want anything SUPER "kiddy" because (at least in the States) this is the age when kids are trying to prove they aren't kids.
What age kids do you have? I'll probably stick Harry Potter on the list. |
