i'm looking for a website with a map of the bus routes in seoul... i've tried the city government 'interactive map' but it doesn't work with firefox or IE - does it work for you?

i like the idea of the bus color coding and numbering the gus but that still doesn't give me enough info to know where exactly a bus goes... is a simple MAP too much to ask for?

also, is there a difference between bus #7611 and #6711? it says on the website that the first number is the departure gu and the second is the arrival gu... do they really mean that the ENDS are gu #6 and #7? will the route number change going the other way (from #7611 to #6711) or stay the same?

thanks

It doesn't work for me, with either IE or Firefox. What are you using?

Do your utmost to never download, let alone install, Korean software on your own computer! It's adware/malware central.

To find a Korean Bus Route Map, just look for a map with the route drawn with the following anomolies:
Route is drawn in a zig zag fashion, alternating between the correct side of the road and the incorrect side of the road.
Route is drawn in a curly, wavy manner to highlight the many lane changes, and occasional, handbrake corners.
Route is drawn going through shopping malls and schools, as Koean buses can go wherever they damm want.

I believe I read a thread recently that mentioned a book that is available at tourist centers around Seoul. All in English, easy to use...haven't picked one up yet, but the next time I'm in da 'Won I'll check it out.

The alternative is spend the 2 hours it takes to learn to read Hangul and you will never have to worry about it again.

Read the route on the bus and get on the one that goes where you want.

I know plenty of Koreans who don't know jack about the bus system other than what gets them to and from work. Standing outside in this weather trying to figure out which bus goes where isn't my idea of a good time.
