Long story short: Drunk at 8:30AM, cusses at flight attendant who asked him to put up his seat, kicked off the plane, denies any wrongdoing for 2.5 hours before his private car picks him up and he goes to Japan to play golf.
From the Korea Times: "After the incident, police said they would investigate Park, but he left for Japan suddenly, Wednesday, raising suspicions that he purposely went overseas to avoid questioning."
I like this comment: "No punishment for him since he can claim, "I was drunk and didn't know what I was doing." Standard Korean excuse which the courts accept." |

Some people really have messed up attitiudes.
1-He's RICH
2-He's OLD
3-He's MALE
In KOREA that gives hime carte blanche. He practically has the key to the city/country. The sooner the MINIONS get this through their thick, financially challenged skulls, the better the world will be for all of us. |

The problem is, as soon as they accept personal responsibility while drunk, they won't have any reasoning as to why drugs are so bad. |

He proceeded to ignore a warning from the captain over the intercom that unless he stopped making trouble he would be removed from the plane, and found himself on the apron shortly after. But the disturbance meant the plane had to spend 30 minutes replenishing fuel to make up for the amount consumed taxiing to the runway and back to the apron, delaying the flight for more than an hour. It eventually took off Park-less at 09:47 a.m.
On disembarking, Park was guided by airport protocol staff to a VIP room in the office, where he rested for two hours before leaving by car around noon. He was apparently entitled to use the VIP room because he is a publicity ambassador for Gimhae International Airport. |

Geez. More amazing the newspaper had the balls to print it.
And the Metropolitician guy gets arrested for reporting a drunk to the police. This is one backwards nation. |

Naming him, yes indeed. I think that naming and shaming more individuals like this could put a big dent in this sort of behaviour. |

Have you seen the high ranking military fella on the AFN commercial that put down the private or whatever for being drunk(I think he assaulted an old lady too) and then telling the court it was because he was drunk. I don't think he had much of a choice. I'm sure he had a Korean Attorney, that's what they do here(blame it on alchohol) so why would the high ranking official be putting his private down for doing something in court that the Romans/Koreans do.
AFN blows. |

So this dude is a publicity ambassador for the airport. Do you think he lost his job. No way. It's amazing how useless and incompetent you can be in Korea, and still clowns keep their jobs. |

I think he did a hell of a job publicizing that airport. I'd honestly never heard of it before...
edit: Well, just wikipedia'd that shit. Didn't realize it was Busan's airport. Oh, well, there you go. Now I care! |

"identified as one of the major financial backers of Roh Moo-hyuns presidential campaign in 2002"
Don't get all excited about how the media is really "sticking it to the man" or making some cultural changes. The media's never been shy of attacking Roh. I'd say they only named this guy to make a stab at the beloved leader. |
