So I am leaving at the end of Feb back to Canada, and my public middle school was just informed by the school board that there will be no replacement for me since it is not part of the hiring season. (Hiring season is apparently ONLY in August).
I have no intention of signing another year.
We have a new principal and he really wanted to create a new image for the school, so having a Native English teacher is a must.
They have been good to me so I kind of would like to help them out, even though it's not my job to do so.
Should I contact a bunch of recruiters? If so which ones do you recommend me contacting to leave the school phone number and person in charge?

it's probably a difficult situation now since there are a lot of new visa rules isn't there?

There are always people looking for jobs. And plenty of schools hire for the new school year starting in March. It's not your problem.

it's good that they've been really nice to u, but finding a new foreign teacher is their job. if what they've said is true about only hiring in august, then how were u hired?

i personally believe your school knows how hard it's going to be with the new visa regs, and are hoping u have friends that u can recommend their school to.

I wonder that myself, but my coteacher said that the school board is going to make hiring season only one time a year. she started ranting about other teachers whose contracts ends in May, November etc.

So looks like my school will be without for awhile.
Most of the people I know are done with Korea and waiting for their contracts to be over as well.

it looks like some of the KTs are sensing what's to come in the future months. a lot of schools are going to without foreign teachers for a few months at least (if not longer)
