Where exactly do I buy a Wii with a modchip already installed? Been to Yongsan on the 6th floor but they didn't have any. Nambu sold them but without any modchip. Please help! |

I think it is hit and miss where you can get them.
I got mine at Technomart, and had it chipped at Yongsan. It is worth getting the chip, as the Wii you purchase, will be a Japanese version, and if you get it chipped you can play American games, and thus English versions. It has not been approved for sale here yet, so there is no Korean version of it. Also, the Japanese version runs on the same voltage as North America.
I love my Wii, but don't get to play with it much. Just had a baby son, so my time goes to him. I may sell it, I may not. Who knows.
Anyhoo, check Technomart, but like I said, it's hit and miss, as they are being smuggled into Korea. Also, you are looking at spending a fair amount more than you would back in North America. Maybe 300,000 for the system, another 40,000 for the chip, another 30,000 for Game Cube controllers, 10,000 for a memory chip... perhaps a couple other things. PM me if you need more details. |

Yongsan, in the games arcade.
New Japanese Wii's are 240,000 unchipped. There is currently no modchip available for the D2C chipset versions.
If you can find an earlier unchipped model, a Wiikey is 60,00 [installed]. You can get this at Yongsan in the 'games' arcade. You may be able to find a modded console here, but the last few times I went there nobody had one for sale.
A chip to mod the newer consoles is in the works but as of last weekend (27th October) not a single dealer had one nor did they know when they would get them.

Modchips do several things. Most useful (perhaps) is that they allow backup, i.e. burned, games to be played. You can usually use games from another region; for example on my Japanese Wii i can play North American games.
The Wiikey chip seems to be the best (it's upgradeable) and most typically available here in Korea, although as I mentioned earlier the revised version that will mod the newer D2C chipsets aren't available in Korea just yet, despite being made here.
Wii controllers are separate from the console and as far as I know there (a) isn't a mod for them and (b) not much point. |

Query: is it worth buying a Wii if all I want to play are Twilight Princess and Super Mario Galaxy? |

Dunno. I thought Twilight Princess kinda lame, haven't tried Galaxy but Mario & Sonic at the Olympics is great. |

or the games arcade @ Yongsan... if you have a modded Wii. Not on weekdays, they say it's "too dangerous" i.e. they will be busted by the police.
Unless the English language games are region-free you won't be able to play them on an NTSC-J console if it isn't modded. |
