How much do you think a cab ride would cost from Incheon Airport to Sangye-dong, Nowon-gu? (closest subway station is Dangogae on Line 4).
Let's just say that there will be little to no traffic cuz my plane gets into Seoul at 5 a.m. on a Sunday morning. |

Take the bus. The airport limo bus starts at 5am, runs every 15 minutes and costs 12k won. Travel time takes about 60 minutes.
A taxi will cost you 60k won and take the same time. |

Could maybe bargain at that time of day. I can see a cab having heavy bags and wanting to get right to your doorstep.
Live a little. |

More likely you would have to share the seat with your bag, and I have never seen a Korean cab driver carry or lift a bag (not even to load it in the car).
On the bus, the bags are handled for you, carried under the bus and you can make the trip in comfort.
Then you have a short walk or cab ride from the airport bus stop to your door. |

Do yourself a favor and just stay at Incheon Airport. Hop on the next plane, and you're in the clear... |

I've seen them lift bags before.
I remember taking my friends bags to my apartment (he was traveling and I said I'd hold onto them). Cab driver saw me and got REALLY excited, helped me lift the bags into the trunk and everything. Then he laughed when I said I was going two subway stops away. |

You should take the airport limousine bus. Wait an hour or so, if necessary. Well worth the trouble.
Bus cost: 13,000 won
Taxi cost: 70,000 won for Koreans, up to 150,000 won for foreigners
(No kidding! My Korean girlfriend took a cab from Nowon to the Incheon airport, and paid 70. A foreign friend I know travelled the exact same route, and the taxi driver took her for a ride. She paid almost 150. Ridiculous! I actually live in Sangye-dong, so these price estimates are accurate.) |
