I was surprised to find a restaurant with 토끼탕 on the menu right near work.
I see no reason not to add this to my impressive list of disgusting things I've eaten in Korea.
But - please describe it, those who know.
I remember the first time I ate dog soup, if someone had told me that it tastes a little like mutton, it'd have helped with the suspense and mystery. I enjoy trying weird things but get a bit uncomfortable also. I like to know what to expect. If it gets bad reviews, I mightn't even bother! |

Rabbit Stew is pretty good though I prefer grilled rabbit myself. As for dog stew you can keep it. I'd rather have a nice bowl of Kimchee Chi-gae. Boshin tang just doesn't strike me as being very special. If I'm gonna gnaw on rover I'd prefer to have him served Su-Yuk style.
Several years ago down in Cholla-nam-do I went to a "wild game" restaurant. We got a combination "set". Rabbit, Quail, Pheasant, Wild Boar, Deer and a bit of grilled snake. Damn good grub but very pricy. If I remember correctly it was something like 80k per person, |

The last time I had rabbit stew it was at a friend's farm back in Kansas. It was tasty, tasty stuff. I didn't find rabbit meat to be greasy (like duck) or gamy, surprisingly.
Then again, I also like boshintang rather a lot. |

Mmmmm, rabbit stew is one of my favorite dishes!!! Please tell me where the restaurant serving 토키탕 is. I would love to go there!
Rabbit tastes like a beefy chicken, in my opinion. Not very greasy, not too tough. Just yummy! |

I never did see this on the menu either. Of course, the restaurants are slightly different in each town and province and I only go out to them when with someone as it's not a solo thing to do. I can't wait to taste Gangwando when i go up there during Winter break with a Korean friend.
I am going to ask my Korean friend tonight if we can go eat rabbit. |

I'd also be interested to know. Don't think I've sampled rabbit since I was a kid. |

There are two rabbit restaurants that I know of in Yongin. It's not a rarity.
It's a shame though. This little critter lives in my house, and even if I weren't a vegetarian, I'd be very sad if someone ate him. I've seen big brown rabbits for sale in the market, and they were pretty personable too.

Many of the restaurants in the village at the center of Namhansanseong have rabbit and pheasant on the menu. Slightly North and East of Bundang. Not exactly the center of Seoul, but one of my favorite places for a day trip. |

^^ Sure thing, Beaver.
Thanks for the insights so far, guys, but I'm afraid I've some bad news: I had a look this afternoon and it was closed - totally dead - so maybe it's not operating, I dunno. Sorry for any disappointment there. It has a huge menu displayed outside and I assumed it'd be open all hours, but maybe not.
I'll visit more over the next week and post updates. |

You guys are sick...I hope you are joking
My poor tokki 2 metres from me now is in shock....
Sure rabbits can be pests and wild rabbits may need to be killed....but a cute household rabbit....awww how sad. |
