I was daydreaming on my way to work today about how there seems to be a general consensus about Koreans and the Korean way of life by everyone on this discussion forum.. the same sorts of grievances and funny stories are heard time and again.

But I realized I don't know much about weigooks from the point of view of Koreans. What are their funny stories and grievances when they talk to each other in Korean, and no foreigners are around?

Sure, we know what they say to our faces, and what we read in the paper, what we hear from friends and possibly significant others who translate, or what we surmise from their expressions and actions. But is there a discussion forum out there where Koreans discuss us to death, like we do to them here? I'd love to see their true thoughts translated.

The Korean Internet community is caustic, insulting, conformist, belligerent, xenophobic, and almost as dumb as this board.

Do a google search for your online name. I've been mentioned on some Korean boards, in Korean of course. My thoughts about eating squid (yummy) were translated. I've also found out my handle is the name of bib company. ?????????? I've also been slandered by Otis/Kevin Gesler on his comical, but pointless website (and it's not safe for work in case you go there).

Could anyone put up some links to these Korean chatboards. The only chatboards I've been able to find are the ones where foreigners like myself practice their Korean from time to time.

I'd like to chat on a bulletin board where regular Koreans go everyday.

If you want to sign up on these boards, you need a Korean ID number. They generally don't accept foreigners unless you steal/borrow someone else's identity.

Now I don't know if this idea is what you are looking for or not, but if you have Yahoo messenger you can enter the Korean Chatrooms. There are several you can choose from. Yahoo messenger also has voice chat, which allows you to talk to the other people in the chatroom as well as hear those that have a mic.
I don't know if it is only Koreans or only Korean-Americans. I just know they speak and type in Korean. Also, 1 person usually dominates the mike.
Here's a 5 minute sample from right now.
You are in "Korean Chat:1" ( make new friends or talk about culture and community. [Notification: We are currently recording IP addresses of all Yahoo! Chat users.] )
Messenger Chat Admin: Congratulations! Your account is verified and you now have access to chat rooms.

On second thought, aren't those online abbreviations for laughing? (ie. kekekeke and hehehehe) Maybe they're laughing about weigooks!
