Anyone know how I could find out the history of a used car in Korea to make sure the dealer isn't lieing about the mileage?

There's absolutely no way to do this in Korea. Consumer rights isn't a big thing here like it is back home.

You could always do a little homework and then inspect the car... It's not foolproof, but it'd help.

There is a car check you can get done. I think it's about 30-45k, and I am sure they check things like outstanding debt owed and a visual inspection.
We talked about it, but never bothered with our last car purchase.
I can ask my wife for a link or phone number, and maybe someone has an English service.
It can also probably be found through Naver.

EDIT
PS- I find mileage is lower here than back home. It's just that more time is spent driving here, just doing less mileage. 20-50% of most journeys is waiting at lights or stuck in traffic; unless you live outside a city.
