I'm living in a tiny one-room these days and the "kitchen" area is miniscule -- one sink and a dish drain board and a 2-burner electric hot plate. But I do all my cooking at home. I don't like going out to eat except for special occassions with friends.

So, food preparation is a hassle even though my cooking is very simple. It consists of steaming or sauting LOTS of veggies of all kinds. But it's a hassle operating in this "kitchen" even with my simple, easy to do meals. I have to move the drying dishes off the the dish draining part of the counter to set up a cutting board.

Back in the home country, I had a cart with wheels, a couple of shelves, and a butcher block top for food prep.

Anybody know of anywhere in the greater Seoul area where one might find such a cart? Haven't seen anything like that at E-Mart or Costco.

Thanks.

off hand I can't think of any place I have seen one but you might try Gmarket- it is in Korean but they have furniture perhaps a Korean friend can help you buy and navigate it

You can also try Modern House- it is on the 4th or 5th floor of the New Core Outlet across from the Gangnam express terminal. It has a lot of household goods and furniture. I can't say for sure but I may have saw some kinds of kitchen carts there.

good luck on your search-

I have exactly the kind of thingie on wheels you are talking about. I didn't get it here in Seoul, so that part won't help. HOWEVER, I did buy it (and saw the same thing at other places) at a generic furniture shop. Just find a 'Furniture Street' with several furniture stores...the kind that carry all that white pine furniture (book cases, tables etc.). I paid W40,000 for it, I think. Delivered.

Thanks to both of you. I'll keep my eyes open for furniture store sorts of places (including that New Core Outlet place). I've certainly never seen anything like it at E-Mart.
