so i woke up this morning in a world of pain. oh crap. i know exactly what this is, because the same thing happened about three years ago. i somehow managed to scratch my eyeball while i was sleeping.
last time this happened i still lived in seoul. i went to the eye doctor, and he took a picture and showed me a giant image of my eye on a monitor so i could see the scratched cornea, and he prescribed some eyedrops that must have been made from the tears of jesus. they were fantastic. i instantly felt better.
today i went to the eye doctor, and she prescribed some eyedrops. i told her about the eyedrops i got last time, and she said that was an anesthetic. thanks doc. so i asked her if that was what she prescribed for me, and she said no. she prescribed me an antibiotic and sent me on my way, saying i'd feel better tomorrow. i complained at the front desk, and they went back and talked to her again to get me something for the pain. they printed up another prescription, and i went downstairs to the pharmacy in eager anticipation of some miracle drops. instead i got the antibiotic drops and some pills for the pain. grr...
i took the pills about thirty minutes ago or so, and my eye still hurts like a son of a b1tch.
what kind of heartless doctor wouldn't prescribe a painkiller for a scratched eyeball?? was she afraid i'd turn into a junky? is there an epidemic of recreational use of anesthetic eye drops?
anyway... i just needed to rant. my eye hurts.
