The real point of this thread is, maybe, just maybe.... is there a mass paranoia going on with America and. maybe countries like Iran and even Venezuela don't pose anywhere near the threat that the media has led us to believe.

No. There is not mass paranoia in America.

Iran fueled speculation of its development of the bomb. It wanted the US to think it had a bomb. It gave Iran something to bargain with. But such a game was accelerating a nuclear arms race in the region. The NIE was the most credible way to counter Cheney's push for war as well as calm the Saudis and the Egyptians.

I was even hoodwinked about Chavez attempting to make himself "Dictator" for life, when he was simply trying to ratify his countries constitution so that he could get re-elected. Yes re-elected much in the same way as Dictatorships like Canada and Britain with their Prime Ministers serving three and four terms.

You were closer the first time when you conceived of Chavez as a dictator.

Chavez tried to bribe the poor with 6 hour days and socialist reforms in exchange for a) destruction of term limits, b) ability to restructure provinces themselves (i.e., an American President who could redraw state lines), c) ability to choose/remove provincial leaders at his whim, d) declare a state of emergency whenever he saw fit, e) complete control over the Central Bank.

="deadman the bigot "]

I would say this is why Iran wants nuclear weapons:

Much for the same reason that Iraq wanted nuclear weapons . Among other things They want them:

to be able to scare other nations from supporting the US in a crisis situation.

to be able to threaten to burn down the neighborhood so it would not get bombed in revenge for something like a terror strike or a small scale invasion.

The only way the US could stop them would be for the US to use nuclear weapons directly There is almost no chance of that happening cause nuclear weapons are such a taboo for the US.

I agree that the US has some time before Iran has a workable nuclear weapon. I would hope the US use that time to be ready for if or when Iran is in possession of one.

You got to remember that Deadman writes what he does cause he is a follower of David Icke.

David Icke is the leader of a vile cult. His followers are filth.

Wow! Just wow! I'm still ROFL. I just read about David Icke on Wiki. Does he actually believe this garbage? Do Deadman and IGTG believe this garbage?

Hillary Clinton, George Bush and Queen Elizabeth II are all reptilian lizards trying to take over the Earth and wanting to implant nanotech in our brains to control us? This goes way beyond the nuttery of white Jewish bankers folks. This guy is just completely insane. Wow! Just Wow! I can't believe some of you are foolish enough to believe this nonsense.

Do you have any proof that it isn't true? To quote a good number of regular posters on this board, you should keep an open mind when someone makes an unususal claim. You shouldn't just be a sheep and follow the official story. That makes you a sheep.

All you crazies out there make me laugh...

You think that an airstrike on Iran is wildly different from an invasion...They're the same thing!
The point is, the US and Israel are talking about, and quite seriously, about bombing a sovereign country pre-emptively....this is wrong..
hey, if Iran were to launch ANY KIND OF attack against it's neighbours i would be first in line to call for some sort of retaliation....
however, they haven't done anything! This new policy of pre-emptive war by the Israeli's and Americans gives them ANY excuse to attack any country because one day, they could become a threat....this is such bull it makes my teeth grind
