my contract is up in early april, and i was wondering how difficult it would be to simply extend it for a month or 2? what parts of the new visa regs would apply in that situation?

I'll second the OP's question since this is something that concerns me too. Anyone know?

Ive read a few time on this board that you have to have less than 2 months left on your current visa.

I also wish to renew mine. However, my visa ends in March.

Oh wait there....

What did your local immigration office say? That's probably where I would start because there's no forum member, with the exception of one, that is a credible source. If you are unable to speak Korean, then you could bring a Korean friend who could translate for you. In my humble opinion, that's what I would do. I hope everything works out for you.

I would just go and tell them that I am looking for a new job and my old contract and visa are expired...they should give you some time to find a good match Smile good luck

Typically, a 2 month extension is NO PROBLEM. It WAS a simple matter of a 1 page amendment to your contract with new end dates, your ARC, passport, application, 30k won, copy of your employers business registration and guarantor document.

As to what part of the new regs will apply, NO-ONE has a firm answer to that at this time. Nothing has been confirmed and it is all subject to change as they iron out the wrinkles.
