|
|
I'm doing a cooking class for my elementry school winter camp.
I need to have the kids make something which is perferably Westernish style food. But relatively inexpensive.
I don't want them handling knives or fire if possible.
They should make something that they'd like to eat.
This summer I had the students make tuna sandwiches and it went okay except one kid cut up his hand on the tuna can.
Meaning that kids are accident prone and they should probably make something other than sandwiches.
Ideas? |

Cookies and cakes are good. Hot dogs, hamburgers, and baked dinner things like lasagna can be good if it's going to be for lunch or dinner. Candy making can be good such as melting chocolate in a double boiler set up and dipping pretzels or plain peppero sticks.
If it's just for fun, then go with sweets. |

I made peanut butter and jam sandwiches last summer camp, using plastic/disposable knives. You just need to make sure the peanut butter is relatively soft and spreadable. |
