I like the white ones. The other ones aren't so great. |

i'ts kinda funny.
I've heard i live in a very special town.
my middle school students were saying that my town ___san has the (consistently) lowest scores on the big high school tests.
The reason? Because
1) ___san students are stupid
2) the students don't study very hard.
I've never been able to figure out WHY my students don't cry when they get bad marks.....ANY students, bad or good. No one seems put off by a bad performance. Now it's all clear: I'm living in a city where parents have a much looser idea of what education should be like, and their kids have a LOT of fun (playing a lot and all the like). I hear these nightmare stories of students LEARNING for 12+hours STRAIGHT. None of my students are like that.
So, i learned something new (after having been here for 1.5 yrs!)
how does this tie to Pepero day?
Well, since my students don't seem to care about school so much, i'm thinking that if i get around 4 i'll be sittind DAMN pretty (i expect 2 boxes and one big stick and that's it). EVEN from the students who are brown nosers, i don't expect anything (b/c they've never given me anything before).
I'm not jealous. I'm still supposed to be on my Atkins diet but i've been letting lose (from Ace day to Peppero...it's been a disaster). So from wed. on (yes, no matter what the amount ALL my pep. are going to be consumed in one day) I'm going back
(for anyone who cares, i managed to lose 29lbs ina month. I'm over half way now...and despite my HORRENDOUS last couple weeks, i've gained only .4kg!...i'm lucky)
so that is about WAAY more information than anyone needs on the topic of pepero day. |

One pathetic little box. I'm feeling unloved.
Ah well, tomorrow is actually pepero day so I'm hoping for a few more of the stale, synthetic-tasting, inedible, date-related breadsticks. |

Got one box decorated with a nice paper, and some frilly bowes and flowers, saying I love you. Was really happy to receive such a nice gift from a even nicer woman. But I would lose my job if anything happened. |

Curious, how many pepero boxes did you give you? I am getting some SMS's from verious women on why I haven't showed my face to bring them the peps. This might be late night. (I am easily 'suaded, when beer is in the mix.) |

I lost count of how many I got- I tried to give them away as fast as I received them. I also got some Rose dark chocolate. Of the peperos, I like the crunky, knobby ones best, but none of them rocks my world. |

I got one measly pack from a student. But that is better than nothing. I also said hell with it and bought one pack for myself.
I didn't buy anything for my students, all 23 of them. |

Ok, that's better. I can barely see the other side of my room for all the boxes of pepperos now. |

You, Zed, can be the one to create th fable of The Pepero Fairy. This year, she was late visiting your house because she had to vanquish the Evil Choco-Pie Nasty first.
Ha ha.
Still waiting for the Pepero Fairy to come my way, but maybe traffic is bad. |

I wasn't expecting to get very many, but I scored pretty well. 11 big sticks, 3 small boxes, and one massive cone full of them. Unfortunately, I can't eat them since I'm allergic to wheat flour!
Unfortunately, the Korean teacher got a lot more than I did. Since she's been with the school for less than a month, I'm a little hurt.
I bought a big bucket full of them to give away, so I gave a lot more than I got. Good fun overall. |
