If anyone knows the answer to this I will be very grateful.
I have signed a new contract with one employer, but have been unexpectedly been approached about another job that would be a dream. I wouldn't usually even think about going back on an agreement but this could be an excellent opportunity for me.
My question is: am I legally tied in to the first employer? I have signed but my E2 has not yet been applied for.
I would appreciate the advice of anyone who has been in this position.
Thanks

You have no E-2 with them, and therefore are not sponsored by them. As long as you don't have an E-2 with them, you should be OK.
Tell them you've changed your mind about the position. If you owe them any money for air tickets, or whatever, pay it in a way that you can track and provide proof for (money transfer, etc).
Don't tell them where or why. The less they know, the better. The more they know, the more they will attempt to seek out that employer and cause trouble for you. |

You're good as long you haven't sent out your original diploma or notarized copy with them applying for a visa confirmation number.
The ball is still in your field if you still have your documents in hand. |
