Heading home for Christmas, and I plan to go nuts with holiday food. When I come back is when it'll be time to get in shape again... anyone go to a gym they can recommend near the HBC (Haebangchon) area? Got info on prices etc?
Thanks! |

How much do you want to spend? If you cross the road from the kimchi pots, and go up the street that Buddha's belly is on, there's one on the right side..Sam-something Gym...A bit small, and I think it's around 180,000 for 3 months.
If you're going to be here for a year, California Fitness in Myeongdong is only a 10 minute bus ride away...I think it's only 600,000+ for a year. |

It's called Samwon and someone told me it's a little more expensive than the Hamilton |

Yeah, I think I was most curious about California fitness but assumed that it was out of my price range... that isn't bad for a year, though. I'll go over and check it out.
I'm planning to get a scooter soon enough, but till then, which bus is it?
Thanks! |

You know the overpass that's next to the PSA? There are 3 buses at the bus stop there, going left towards the tunnel...I'm not sure of their numbers, but all of the buses go there..It's the first stop after the tunnel...Get out, walk towards the interection, cross under the street, turn right, and then it's on the next-over parallel road...(if that makes any sense) |

There's also one at Haebancheon ogeori the 5 crossraods were ministop and Tous Les Jour bakery is. It's in the basement next to the police office and is 45,000 won/month. I think hours are 6am-10pm weekdays and closes at 6pm on Saturdays and is open a few hours on Sunday. |

There's also one at the new library in Itaewon 2 dong. You can get to it by taking the overpass which is closest to the Namsan Tunnel entrance. Once over take the stairs down to the left, then follow the brick apartment complex wall around until you come to the complex's main entrance. The library and gym are directly across from the main entrance. |

So are any of these gyms good, as in not dingy / overcrowded / lacking equipment? I've been to a few gyms in Korea and they've mostly been depressing sh*tholes. Which of these is the best? |
