my second assignment for my first module is to create a viable research plan. damned if i'm not in the middle of nowhere korea and without any library resources. what online resources do you all use? any other hints?
i'm in a bit of a tizzy. |

Most universities have online journal access. When I studied distance from Macquarie I used EBSCOHOST through their website and had access to tons of journals. |

| Ditto to the above, Journal article databases should be common knowledge if you are doing this kind of study, I relied on them almost totally during my just-completed MA through Deakin. Your library should also have an off-campus delivery service that you can utilise to get books. |

Go to your library website, use the helpdesk function if need be. Most of these things also run online tutorials specified for those of us who study off-campus. |

Aside from all the good advice above, do you live in Seoul? If you do you can try the IGSE (International Graduate School of English) library near Chamsil. They have a very good selection of ELT materials on offer. They will let you get a library card if you're not a student there, but the crap thing is you can only borrow 3 or 4 titles at a time.
I used Athens to get journal articles.
Oh, I just notice you're in the middle of nowhere Korea. How far is middle of nowhere from Seoul? Sorry.

it's about 5 hours from Seoul by bus. no train station. sucks, eh? i might be able to spend some time in Seoul during our winter holidays. is it 2LA-focused or does it deal with all sorts of linguistics? |

It has all sorts. It's a bit of a pain to get to and find, but worth it once you're there. I think the library card costs 50k but you get that money back when you're done with the card.
