I am new to Korea and in the market for a cheap cell phone. Im starting to hear a lot about cell phone rental. Can anyone recommend a good place to rent a phone? I would even buy a phone, depending on how much it costs.
Also, who is the best company to go with? What are the best plans? How cheap can I go?
Thanks... |

Check your neighborhood cell phone shops. You can get used phones from about 30k won. If you get prepaid /card phone (as compared to a monthly billing) service there is no hookup fee and you get about 26 minutes of talk time (outgoing) for 10k won.
All 3 companies have similar rates and service.
Cell phone rentals are about 2-3k per day + talk time (100k per month).
Monthly billing plans are available but there are lots of hoops to jump through. Just look through the sticky thread about cell phones if you need more information.
